The SeDTU300 series 4G/NB industrial DTU is an industrial-grade wireless data terminal product, which utilizes LTE 4G/NB wireless networks as the bearer network. It provides industrial users with a wireless data transmission channel above TCP/IP, facilitating wireless data communication between remote control station serial port devices and central control systems, enabling remote industrial site control.
It offers RS232 and RS485 interfaces as well as a rich set of IO interfaces for direct connection to serial port devices, enabling transparent data transmission and IO data acquisition functions. It supports various configuration and management methods such as local PC-side configuration tools, AT command configuration, and TCP/IP remote configuration, simplifying on-site construction and post-maintenance, significantly improving construction efficiency, and reducing the overall cost of system operation, thereby allowing customers to truly experience the convenience of wireless communication.
Imagine a large metropolitan area implementing a smart waste management system to optimize garbage collection routes, reduce operational costs, and improve city cleanliness. The SeDTU300 Multi-Serial Port LTE Modem plays a crucial role in this innovative system:
Waste Bin Monitoring: The SeDTU300 is installed in smart waste bins throughout the city. Using its RS485 interface, it connects to ultrasonic sensors that measure the fill level of each bin.
Environmental Sensors: The RS232 port is used to interface with environmental sensors that monitor temperature and odor levels around the bins, helping to prioritize collection for bins that may cause sanitation issues.
Real-time Data Transmission: Utilizing its LTE 4G CAT4 capability, the SeDTU300 sends real-time data about bin fill levels and environmental conditions to the central waste management system.
Harsh Environment Operation: The modem's wide operating temperature range (-35°C to +75°C) and IP30 protection ensure reliable operation in various weather conditions and urban environments.
Solar-Powered Operation: The wide input voltage range (DC 5~36V, expandable to 5-60V) allows the SeDTU300 to be powered by small solar panels with battery backup, making it suitable for bins in areas without easy access to power sources.
Compactor Integration: For large bins with built-in compactors, the SeDTU300's digital I/O capabilities are used to trigger compaction cycles when the bin reaches a certain fill level, maximizing capacity.
Maintenance Alerts: The modem's additional I/O ports connect to sensors that monitor the bin's mechanical components, sending alerts for any maintenance issues.
Robust Communication: The industrial-grade 4G module ensures reliable data transmission even in areas with poor network coverage, such as underground or in densely built urban areas.
Secure Data Handling: With 8MB SPI FLASH and 256KB SRAM, the SeDTU300 can securely store data locally if network connectivity is temporarily lost, ensuring no data points are missed.
Fleet Management: For mobile garbage trucks, the optional GPS functionality allows real-time tracking and route optimization based on bin fill levels and traffic conditions.
This smart waste management application showcases how the SeDTU300's multi-serial port capability, robust design, wide operating conditions, and cellular connectivity can transform traditional city services. It enables data-driven decision making, leading to more efficient waste collection routes, reduced operational costs, improved urban cleanliness, and ultimately, a better quality of life for city residents.
The SeDTU300's long MTBF (≥ 100,000 hours) and comprehensive protection features ensure a reliable, low-maintenance solution for long-term deployment in this critical urban infrastructure application.
